The cake painting is finished! I think I captured the warm and cool light that hit the cake. I also tried to depict the different textures found on the surface.
I am using Cobra water mixable oils which are great. They look so rich and are extremely easy to use. At this point, I need to work on the whipped cream topping and define more of the highlights and shadows.
I am working on a new series of food paintings. I have always been mesmerized and able to get lost in a still-life. They are little worlds all their own. I love being able to study a simple arrangement of objects and capture the beauty there within and show the world what I see. This is the beginning stages of a cake painting in oil I am working on.
Getting the basic structure down. I need to go back in and work on the whipped cream and add highlights and shadows. I am using Cobra water mixable oil colors and they are fantastic. So easy to clean up and look great.
